I don’t often look to New Years with anticipation……there’s something about “starting over” that depresses me.  I know it’s not a literal starting over, but so many people say that and infect my perception of the possibilities that New Years offers.

But this year, I’m absolutely ecstatic about the new year!  I see so many possibilities for the upcoming year, and it’s gotten me excited about looking back on the blessings of this year and looking forward to the blessings of the year to come!

So, take a minute (or a few) to look back over the last year, not to mull over any regrets that you might have, but to find the blessings.  Especially those sneaky blessings that may have been masked as setbacks!  There are a lot of instances in this past year where I could look pessimistically and negatively and get down and depressed that they happened.  Or I can choose to see them as stepping stones that have brought me to exactly where I am today……so full of anticipation of what’s to come.

Reflect upon your blessings, not your misfortunes.

Because remember this……if you can’t find a way to be grateful for what you have now, what makes you think that getting more will instantly make you happier?  Besides, the best way to show the Uni-verse that you’re ready to accept more is by being grateful for what you’ve already been given.

What are you grateful for this year?  Did you learn a lesson that you wouldn’t have learned without some adversity?  Leave me a comment and let me know what blessings you’ve seen come your way this year.
