I have not always been very good at listening to my intuition. I’ve gone against my gut many times…..and looking back, every single time that I can remember doing something against my gut, I can see something negative that came out of that situation.
I’ve been trying to listen to my intuition better lately, and I have to say, I’m liking it!
I love the quote above for two reasons. First of all because Malcolm Gladwell is my absolute. favorite. author. But also because that’s exactly what insight feels like to me…..like a candle that must be handled delicately. If you listen to “convention” long enough, and to the voices (whether inside your head or from people around you) telling you to do something like “play it safe,” “be sensible,” or that you’re “better safe than sorry,” you’ll miss those little flickers of insight or intuition that will actually lead you down the path you need to travel.
Lately it seems like I’ve been making more and more decisions simply on my gut feeling about it, even though I can’t really rationalize what I’m doing…..and I’ve been seeing positive results!
The flame of my intuition seems to be burning brighter! And I’m so grateful for that. It’s obviously still a journey, and I still make mistakes…..going against my gut, when I know that doing that usually ends up in upsetting results.
What have you done on a gut feeling or a hunch that turned out to be one of the best things you’ve ever done? OR…..what have you done that felt like it was against your gut that turned out poorly? Leave a comment and let me know!
